Long-distance move from California to Colorado

Conejo Valley Moving

Run don't walk away from this company. VERY unprofessional, incompetent, unreliable and undependable. It was made very clear to the quoting agent and this moving company on multiple occasions that my husband is disabled and would not be able to walk them through some places in the home and although he did walk them through everything they left behind 3 large hampers and 3 small boxes that were clearly marked and were right next to other boxes also clearly marked that did get moved, how they missed them is absolutely unclear as they were right next to the boxes they did take and those things left behind were CLEARLY marked. The moving crew showed up without an inventory list and did a hand made list on lined paper, a list they insisted my husband signed that was not complete. The main moving guy came right in first thing and asked to use the bathroom, spending nearly 40 minutes in there fouling the place up, talking on his cell phone. It took them nearly 7 hours to do a job that should not have taken 3 guys more than 3 hours. They missed many items that were pointed out to them and they did take. When I called the office to tell them they forgot stuff, they did try to find someone to come get the items but failed to do so, and since our things were already being loaded on the main moving truck we were pretty much told we were out of luck. then we were referred to Allied customer service, who does not return calls as a voicemail is all there is. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! DO NOT USE ALLIED VAN LINES. They are both unprofessional, incompetent and ABSOLTELY NOT A GOOD MOVING COMPANY!!!! Service cost for less than 2 bedroom house $5100+ A TOTAL RIP OFF since we have not been reinbursed for the things left behind that WERE on the official inventory list but MISSED by the movers even though the items were marked and in the initial walk through WERE POINTED OUT TO THEM!!!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5200

Long-distance move from California to Colorado

Experience review.

They men who actually moved and delivered my items were professional and relatively efficient. The sales man, nice, but ineffective in managing my issue of delivery date. Not one thing that the salesman promise actually happened. I was told that the same people who picked up my things would deliver them, that did not happen. I was told and given a contract - in print showing the delivery date-  that the last delivery date would be on the 5th of July, and my things arrived on the 8th. The men who loaded the truck did not put all boxes that were marked "up', upright. They littered my street with cigarette butts. I can already tell what is missing - 2 boxes and parts of furniture. The people at the company, and the crew were very nice, somewhat understanding. Bottom line, things are missing, nothing happened as promised, and it all took way too long.

Service cost: $45

Local move from Simi Valley, CA to Ventura, CA

Moving within California

Predatory business practices at Unigroup and United Van Lines and their local agent, Conejo Valley Moving and Storage/Blue Chip, flows from top down and even reaches to the receptionists answering calls. Do not use United Van Lines or their local agent Conejo Valley Moving and Storage if you value your belongings, your departure home, or your destination home. Our move in June 2022 was one headache after another because we trusted United Van Lines since we have had positive moves with them in the past. Conejo Valley Moving and Storage use their affiliation with United Van Lines to get business, then destroy your belongings, and slap you in the face on their way out.

The movers and packers were unprofessional to say the least. Their packing crew only packed our home for a few hours, leaving over 50% unpacked. After multiple discussions with the sales person, one packer showed up on the day of the move who threw items in boxes without any packing materials, resulting in damaged and shattered items. The movers incessantly bickered and argued while disassembling and moving our furniture. Their hostilities got worse as they broke multiple pieces of our furniture.

When the disaster that was our move finally came to an end, we were forced to initial and sign a one-page paper with an illegible font size. We objected signing multiple times as we could not read the document. The female mover forcefully stated that she and the two male movers who remained with her would not leave until the document had been signed, pushing the paper over to us and pointing her pen tip to the areas requiring our signature. We had three strangers in our house demanding at 8:00 PM PST to sign a document we cannot read – predatory business practices.

They absolutely do not care about the damages they caused. They have a one woman show claims person in Louisiana, but we are sure she is not there. None of our calls to her number connects, and the recording from the phone company states the international call cannot be completed. International? Last we checked, Louisiana hasn’t seceded from the Union and become its own country. More likely someone overseas handling their claims with some forwarding call going on. It took this so called company over a week to pick up our certified letter. Calls and emails to the company owner, Dennis Doody, have gone unanswered. It sure looks like he is avoiding contact with clients just like the claims adjuster.

We even contacted United Van Lines. They say all the right things but refuse to do anything to remedy the situation they contributed to putting us in. It is apparent Unigroup, United Van Lines, Blue Chip, and Conejo Valley Moving and Storage have complete disregard for their customers and for righting the wrongs they have caused.
